About the project

Swanholm Technology specializes in safety at work, particularly through their alert vest. The vest helps prevent workplace accidents and fatalities from poor visibility, falls, and lone work situations. We initially built a native Android application for the vest. When it was time to launch it on iOS and add new features, we decided to redesign the application for better scalability. We also rebuilt the app using Flutter, to be able to use and maintain the same code base for both platforms. Additionally, we also designed a new fresh logo for their brand.

AI Controlled Lights and Bluetooth Integration

Swanholm alert vest is built up of two main components: a motion detection AI and printed lights for more visibility. With Bluetooth technology, the vest connects to your phone and allows you to configure vest settings and alert behavior.

By sensing the movement of the person, AI enables the vest to light up when exiting a vehicle cabin, for example a truck, an excavator or a wheel loader.

Onboarding Wizard for Pairing the Vest

The onboarding wizard provides clear, step-by-step instructions to simplify pairing the vest. It ensures correct configuration, allowing users to quickly connect the vest from their mobile device. Once pairing is complete, the vest is operational and will help increase work place safety.

When a Fall is Detected

When a person wearing the vest experiences a fall, the AI built in the vest detects the movement and activates lights to increase visibility on site. Additionally, the accompanying mobile app alerts emergency contacts via SMS and shares the geographical location.

Swanholm's New Logo

Swanholm asked us to design a new logo for their brand. During the logo creation process, we drew inspiration directly from their name. Given their name, it was only natural to incorporate the elegant bird as the central symbol. The swan serves as a visual representation of the company's identity, capturing the essence of safety and professionalism.
